Practical Nursing

Successful graduates of the Practical Nursing Program at Western Suffolk BOCES work in health care facilities across the metropolitan New York area under the direction of nurses, doctors or other authorized health care providers. Becoming a can also be a springboard to other careers in health care. Those who successfully complete the meet the qualifications for admission to the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN).

The program, located at the Western Suffolk BOCES Northport campus, helps prepare adults with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the health needs of our ever-changing society. The low ratio of students to faculty allows many opportunities for individualized instruction.
